Stihl 024 manual
The Stihl 024 was first made in 1993 and like all good Stihl’s it grew into a MS version; when the product range in was rebranded by the company in 2002. It then became the MS 240. It is a midweight saw which is very popular today with homesteaders and farmers. It has a 41.6cc engine and carries a 16″ – 40cm Bar. Stihl classify it as a professional petrol chainsaw.

The ignition system on the STIHL 024 contains an electronic magneto breakerless ignition with an integral trigger unit. The air gap between the flywheel magnet and the ignition module must be set at .2 to .3 mm. The spark plug for the 024 is either a Bosch WSR 6F, NGK BPMR 7 A, or a Champion RCJ 6Y. The electrode gap for the spark plug must maintain a distance of .5 mm to discharge the spark.
