The 015 became available in 1973 the AV version in 1974.

For the most part, all the parts are interchangeable except where the AV and solid handles vary. There are also some with one ring but most have two.

1983 was the last year of production and there are no available number breaks to find the exact date of manufacture. There is the badge on the side of the starter though, with that you can find the 1976 units and later by the rectangle STIHL badge and not the log cross section.
